We're looking for a proactive and driven Raw Materials Team Leader to take ownership of raw material planning and stock management within our fast-paced factory environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a team while ensuring maximum crop utilisation and minimal waste.
What You'll Be Doing
As Raw Materials Team Leader, you'll play a vital role in ensuring raw materials are effectively managed, rotated, and utilised to meet customer and production requirements. You will:
- Manage raw material stock availability and utilisation across the factory.
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of Stock Controllers and the Backyard Team.
- Develop effective grading plans to maximise operational efficiency and grader capacity.
- Monitor stock quality and proactively identify and escalate crop-related issues.
- Review industrial bins and collaborate with line graders to reduce waste and improve crop usage.
- Ensure all stock issued to production meets required quality checks and approvals.
- Work closely with FLT drivers, production teams, graders, and managers to achieve optimal stock utilisation.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to reduce waste and maximise returns through industrial re-sales where appropriate.
- Maintain clear visibility and accurate tracking of all crop stock on site.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working within a factory, manufacturing, or food production environment.
- Previous team leadership experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solving ability with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Confidence in making decisions and prioritising workload in a fast-moving environment.
